Part of becoming a successful network marketer is learning new skills. For example, learning how to make clickable banner ads. In business, as in life, you should always be adding new skills to your bag of tricks.
To be successful, you need to be a jack of all trades. If something needs to be done and you don’t know how to do it, you learn how to do it. If your desire to succeed is strong enough, you’ll find a way!
When you start making money, then you can start outsourcing some of your work. But that’s another topic for another day.
In this post, I’m assuming you already have a banner and that you want to make it clickable so you promote or advertise your business with it.
Making clickable banner ads is really a pretty easy process. However, you do have to use some HTML Code. Ok, now I know some of you are starting to get a little nervous. You’re probably thinking that you can’t do this because you don’t know anything about HTML Code…
Not to worry. It’s so easy a 5th grader could do it. Wait, in today’s world 5th graders probably have better computer skills than we do.
As long as you can type, cut and paste, you’ll be fine. I suggest that once you learn how to do this that you save the HTML Code somewhere so that you can use it over and over without having to retype it. I store mine in Notepad.
Ok, here’s the steps to follow to add a link to a banner.
1. decide which banner you’re going to use (It needs to be saved on your computer, or phone;
2. Upload it to the web. If you don’t have a place to store it, I suggest Photobucket. It’s really easy to use and it’s free.
a. The URL is http://www.PhotoBucket.com.
b. If you don’t have an account, create one;
c. Choose Create A Public Album – since you want to use this as an ad. You can also create private albums for your personal pictures;
d. Click on Upload From My Computer (a drop down menu will appear and give you a number of locations to choose from;
e. Click the green Select Photos and Videos Button;
f. Select the banner you want to upload and click it;
g. Click Open;
h. Click go to album;
i. Click on the banner picture;
j. a pop up will appear. Copy the HTML Code;
k. Paste the HTML code on the web page you want to install it on;
l. Copy this Clickable Banner HTML code and paste it there as well
<A href=”yourAddressLink” target=”_new”>
<img src=”yourPICTURElink”>
</A>
(Don’t Freak Out, remember I said it’s easy to do and I’ll walk you through it;
m. Copy and Paste the URL you want your banner to Link too;
For example purposes, I’ll show you how it will look. I’ll pick a banner, the source code and the transfer URL.
(To make this easier, which I know you all want you should do this in the HTML box, not the visual or else you’ll probably have some code to clean up.) On my WordPress blog there are two tabs you can flip back and forth between Visual/HTML)
1. HTML Linkable Banner Code
<A href=”yourAddressLink” target=”_new”>
<img src=”yourPICTURElink”>
</A>
2. Banner HTML Code
<a href=”http://s277.photobucket.com/albums/gg153/abc123/?action=view&current=124banner_250_250_v1.jpg” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg143/abc123/124banner_250_250_v1.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Photobucket”></a>
3. The URL you want the banner to Link Too;
http://www.One24OnlineMarketing.com
(Of course you’ll be using your own banner code and URL, this is just for demonstration purposes.)
Now look at the Clickable Banner HTML Code where it says “yourAddressLink”
Put your courser in that part of the Clickable HTML Banner Code and erase it until it looks like this
<A href=”" target=”_new”>
<img src=”yourPICTURElink”>
</A>
Then copy and paste your URL in between the “” like this
<A href=”http://www.One24OnlineMarketing.com” target=”_new”>
<img src=”yourPICTURElink”>
</A>
Then erase the part that says “yourPICTURElink” until it looks like “”
<A href=”http://www.One24OnlineMarketing.com” target=”_new”>
<img src=”">
</A>
Then copy and past your banner HTLM Code in between the “”
Switch back over to Visual and you should have a clickable banner like this one.
(Be sure to click on it to make sure it works)
And there you have it. Now you know how to make clickable banner ads. Now go out and get busy achieving your dreams!

Great tutorial John. I wish I would have had this info when I was a newbie online. Some leaders say you don’t need to know any HTML to be successful. I say it will make your life sooo much easier if you learn to use what’s covered in this post.
